I see that your questions have been answered. As a newcomer, you should
take a look at the IBM RedBooks.
These are excellent references. You might like to start with the LVM A to
Z, (in two volumes), since it's actually relevant to you at the moment.

The Certification Study Guides are also highly regarded, although I haven't
used them myself.
