we have OPS with a lot of lvs and make backup with dd for
disk using a script.

dd if=/dev/lvxxx of=/bkporacle/lvxxx.bkp bs=1024k
tar -cvf /dev/rmt1 /bkporacle

There is a other backup's option without to occupy space in file system
maybe using our 3580 and that has a easy way to restore a backup?

thanks.
