Ron,
I have samba running on 4.3.3 via the AIX Toolbox for Linux. This
requires the installation of rpm.rte and then samba via rpm. The daemon is
started using /usr/sbin/smbd with the -D option which tells the process to
become a daemon and is part of the default option.
