Actually cron jobs are ORed. I found this out too. This will run on
weekdays 1-7 and Saturday...

would run command on the first and fifteenth days of each month, as well
as
every Monday. To specify days by only one field, the other field should
contain an * .

This should run your cron on Saturday's only from the 1st-7th. It should
skip the other 6 days.
