Hi guru's:
Here is one I can't figure out.
I have a batch of tapes that were created on one machine that has the
following configuration:
OLD DEVICE:
rmt0 00-07-00-0,0 5.0 GB 8mm Tape Drive
Manufacturer................EXABYTE
Machine Type and Model......IBM-8505
Device Specific.(Z1)........7J0A
Part Number.................8191044
Serial Number...............588694
Device Specific.(LI)........00000001
EC Level....................D48098
FRU Number..................21H5151
Device Specific.(Z0)........0180020283000010
When I try to read them on the new drive, I get a message in the LCD
Panel
that says ILLEGAL TAPE. The new drives configuration is below.
It will read Exabyte 170m AME Tapes just fine, but the Maxell HS-8/112
tapes
Are what gives the illegal tape message!
Any ideas? What do I need to do in order to read these tapes? Thanks in
advance.
