Depending on your definition of shared. Do you mean concurrent access ? Or
just the ability to mount the other servers disk in the event of a failure
of one server ?

The latter yes. Concurrent volume groups are available without HA; but you
might need some sort of locking daemon like cllockd in HACMP.
