We have quite a few etherchannel devices.

Are you using Cisco switches ?

With aix 5, you could configure virtual ip address and dead gateway
detection.
Or, depending on your needs, HACMP may be a more comprehensive choice.

Has any figured out a way to have redundant nics?

We have tried ether channel and have not been successful.
Perhaps our set up was in correct (did months ago, having concern today),
but I can call IBM on that one.

Just wondering if others use a correct setup of ether channel or some other
method.
