i'm trying to get an aix 433 box talking to a redhat 8 ppp server....the
server works dandy for windows xp and linux clients, but the aix clients
don't seem to work. the pppdial log file, using the -v flag, shows it
connecting, then getting the login prompt, sending the username, then
getting the password prompt, then sending the password, then i presume it
passes control back to pppattachd. Now the docs for pppattachd say it uses
the syslog facility for logging, but fail to mention the facility name or
level to put in. Anyone know? anyone know why I can't get this logged in,
when other oses are fine with it?
the log on the redhat box, by the way shows the pppd started by the user the
aix box is dialing in as (pppd is the default shell) and the ppp0 interface
going up, then says LCP terminated by peer.
