Have you tried ssaidentify command? this will blink the led in front of the
ssa disk. I think it will work even on bad disks or I'm wrong ?

To show the 8-digit SSA Serial number - that's the one printed on the front
of the disk - I use "lsattr -El hdiskX -a connwhere_shad|cut -c20-27".
It'll work with pdisk as well.
