You could (or someone there) try things like moving cables around, i.e.,
switching the cable from fcs0 to fcs1 and so on. You probably new that.

I have 2109s that are IBM OEM Brocade, and there are plenty of ways to look
for WWNs via telnet or web interface and so, not just zoning menus.

I assume you don't see the other two anywhere?

You said AIX seems to be OK. You might try rmdev -dl for each FCS and
running cfgmgr again. Its possible they are in arbitrated loop mode and not
swithed mode?

If the lights are all lit correctly, I would look at the AIX end. Compare
lsdev, lscfg, lsattr of each fcs.

Good luck,
Kevin Adams

Have a Brocade switch (Silkworm 12000). Attaching an
S80 that has three fiber cards (6228s).

When I go into the WWN Zoning menus on the switch (to
start creating an alias), only the WWN for fcs0
appears automatically. I'm kind of used to just
plugging in the switches and at least seeing that the
WWN has been recognized on the switch (then I can set
up my aliases, zones, etc.).

Any reason why the other two won't show up? My gut
reaction is that this a cable problem. But, we're
getting all the lights lit on both ends, as I would
expect.

Again, this is just at the switch level -- AIX seems
to be OK (no error report entries, all the 2105 device
drivers are installed for the eventual Shark
attachment, etc.).

I apologize for the probably off-topicness, but does
anyone have any ideas or can confirm my suspicion that
this is really just a cable problem.

[The machine and switch are 1500 miles away.]
