We used to have that sort of problem with the DMS; particularly during the
week end batch runs and system backups. It's been solved by getting a more
powerful server - the old one was a bit feeble - but I had considered trying

to make use of WLM to ensure that regardless of the application load the
deadman switch was always able to get some resource. I don't think that it
would be very difficult to configure.
