Sadly enough that is a security issue since you will now be passing
passwords in plain text for sniffers to get.
Use Samba or if you want a commercial product use Syntax's ( now LSI ) TAS (
TotalNet Access Server ). TAS used to be AIX Connections which was a FAR
superior product to FastConnect.
My $.02...

Here is the answer to your problem on Windows 2000:
Each win2k client machine needs a registry change to allow access from a
Fast Connect share. Fortunately the value name is already included in
Win2k's registry. Just change the 0 to a 1. Here is the path and the DWORD
value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkStation\Param
eters
Value Name: EnablePlainTextPassword
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1
Reboot and map the share like anything else.

Darryl

Subject: AIX fast connect and win2000
Hi All ,
I have installed and configured AIX fast connect on AIX4339 . I can access
shares defined on AIX system using windows 95 and NT but not 2000 .
Does anyone know if there are any issues accessing 2000 ? When I try net use
command I get access denied error . It won't accept user name and password
.
