Hi,

You can set the Set-user-ID to top command.

chmod u+s top

-rws--x--x 1 root system 416224 Apr 24 2001 top

I have this configuration in my environment to oracle users and works very well.

Subject: Safe to add read attributes to /dev/kmem?

Hello,

Our DBA's want to run top but can't because of the permissions on
/dev/kmem. I was thinking of running a simple chmod o+r /dev/kmem command
but wanted to run it by the group before I hit [return].

Is there anything wrong with this?

TIA,
Anthony
