This is getting a bit wierd, after I mailed the list I tried again and got a
message that there waqs a problem with the device and to run mkvirprt. I
removed the queue and added it again and it printed, the first time. Since
then it won't print, no error messages, job goes through the queue but no
print. ( I've tried stopping the queue to make sure it got there, the job is
there then when you restart the queue nothing comes out of the printer.) enq
doesn't help either it apparently prints but nothing comes out the other
end. However I've removed and replaced another queue and that is now working
again.

Sue, do you get any output if you "enq" the print job?

Thanks, Steven

I have two B50's which have replaced three very old machines, I've been
told
now after they've been in service a month that they have printing problems.
They are printing to HP Jet Direct boxes from their application. The
application uses qprt to send the file to print. I've tried printing from
the command line and nothing happens, if you use -n with qprt it tells you
that the request has finished on the device. I've tried adding a new
printer and I get the same results. The curious thing is I've gone back on
to the old machine and I can't print from there now either.

Can anybody help with this, it's for a social services department and they
need to be able to print

Many thanks
