So what is considered "other routed" ... different subnets, or ....?

example 172.17.72.12 on Server at Campus B
Clients at Campus A are 172.16.65.xxx....Is this remote?

Dave

The difference is that the mtu of 1500 is the one used for same network
connections, the remmtu if 576 is the one used for other (i.e. routed)
networks. Or at least, thats what I think it is.

Can anyone explain the difference/distinction between remote mtu and mtu
settings
for nic cards? example:
/usr/sbin # lsattr -El en1

mtu 1500 Maximum IP Packet Size for This Device True

remmtu 576 Maximum IP Packet Size for REMOTE Networks True

thanks.
