This attribute merely states "first come first serve". This is the default
value (the other possible value is "shortest job next or sjn") for that
attribute and is quite often missing from the queue stanza.
Although this attribute is not visible when you add the remote queue or even
when accessed via Change/Show Print Queue characteristics, you can see the
attribute if accessed via "Programming Tools - Queue & Queue Devices -
Queues - Change/Show Characteristics of a Queue".

I have some remote queues set up. Some of them have this stanza in
/etc/qconfig. Other do not.
discipline = fcfs
I cannot for the life of me work out how I got that into some of them but
not others.
Any ideas?
