sounds like the shell you have set for that user is either a nonexistant
file, or not in the list of acceptable shells. what do you have listed for
that user's shell?

Subject: Cannot set process environment
Hello all,
I've got an AIX 5.1 box that I'm having trouble with
right now. Whenever I log in as root and then try to
su to another user I get the following message:
Cannot set process environment.
When I try telnetting in as a user other than root, I
get the following message:
3004-009 Failed running login shell.
I then get kicked out. Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks!
-Stephen Spalding
