As Pedro says, it depends on the filesystem characteristics. With the
defaults, the maximum is 64GB. Take a look at the crfs man page; this shows
the maximum filesystem size for various combinations of nbpi and frag.

Note that this does not affect the number of partitions you can add to the
LV, so you could have a 80GB LV, but if the filesystem was created with the
default nbpi and frag you'll waste 16GB and there's no easy way of getting
it back.
