Simon,
Thanx for the info. Ok i understand that i can't run windows apps on
AIX, but say if i have a requirement where i'll want to invoke a VB
application running on a Windows server, from a UNIX server. Do we have any
tools to do this.

I do understand that there are some tools to simulate the commands like
ls etc on windows also, but the situation in question is to invoke the
application on a Windows system from a Unix machine...One of my developer
says, this could be possible..so i thought one of us would have ever
encountered such situation.

TIA

I don't think anything is available to let you run Windows apps on AIX.
It's relatively simple with Linux or BSD, using something like Wine. It
MIGHT be possible to get that to run on AIX, but I wouldn't bet on it.

There are some tools to allow normal UNIX commands to work on Windows. e.g.
So you can use "ls" instead of "dir". I don't know of anything that will
let you run, say, KornShell scripts on Windows. It's possible, of course,
but you're more likely to find "bash" than "ksh" I would guess. (They're
quite similar.)
