Re: DB2 backup to disk under AIX - issue RESOLVED

OK everyone - I resolved the issue at hand. For the sake of the archives:

I was getting very uneven distribution on my disk backup images. I know
there will always be some level of un-evenness in the backups, but it
seemed to be way too much.

The problem was resolved as follows:

The stripe size of 2 of my logical volumes was wrong
My 3rd logical volume was not striped at all.

Thanks, Bill.

Bill,
We take backups on to Disk images but we have never touched these
parameters, as the default values have worked for us. If you have any
problem you can think of tuning the same.

Anyone out there perform DB2 backups to disk images ? If so, what are your
settings for:

      BUFFERS
      PARALLELISM
      BUFFER

Also - that hardware model is it on ?

Thanks, Bill.
