AIX5 32 bit kernel and JFS2

Folks,

Got this from an acquaintance at IBM:

DO NOT RUN AIX V5 WITH THE 32-BIT KERNEL AND JFS2'S UNLESS YOU HAVE THIS
APAR INSTALLED!!!

 APAR= IY32280 JFS2 ENHANCEMENT FOR 32-BIT KERNEL

SB02/06/19 RC02/06/19 CL02/06/19

COMP OPER ENV= 110 510

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
On the 32-bit kernel, JFS2 is severely limited in the number of buffers
available because of the limitations of the kernel heap. This can lead to
filesystem hang conditions.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
JFS2 will allocate and attach an additional segment on the 32-bit kernel to
increase available buffers by an order of magnitude or greater.

Hope this helps....
