4.3.3 allows you to change the 'factor' (see the chvg command). This factor
takes away from the MAX PV's for a volume group and adds to the MAX PP's per
PV, allowing you to have greater than the 1016 limit.

Notice below, that you have a max of 5 PV's for this VG, but 6096 PP's per
PV (bottom of output):
