Stale logical volumes

Good Day Admins,
I had a mirrored disk (hdisk1) in the rootvg go bad (missing). Normally I
would do a rmlvcopy of all the logical volumes and reducevg rootvg then
rmdev -dl hdisk1. I would then replace hdisk1, reboot, extend rootvg and do
a mirrorvg -m rootvg hdisk1. I was unable to do a rmlvcopy on hd6 for some
reason. I was able to delete hdisk1 and replace it but when I tried to
mirror it again I got stale partitions on several logical volumes including
hd6. I did the command lsvg -p rootvg and got the following results:

str132> lsvg -p rootvg
rootvg:
PV_NAME PV STATE TOTAL PPs FREE PPs FREE DISTRIBUTION
hdisk0 active 542 322 105..00..00..108..109
0516-304 lsvg: Unable to find device id 0000105265851a16 in the Device
        Configuration Database.
0000105265851a16 missing 542 530 109..96..108..108..109
hdisk1 active 542 334 84..06..27..108..109

I ran redefindvg rootvg hdisk1 without any problem and then tried to do a
syncvg -l hd5 and got the following:

0516-068 lresynclv: Unable to completely resynchronize volume. Run
        diagnostics if necessary.
0516-934 /etc/syncvg: Unable to synchronize logical volume hd6.

Any ideas where to go from here? None of the stale logical volumes will
sync.
Running AIX 4.3.2

Thanks,
