Unfortunately, IBM's Visual Age C++ v5.0 is a seperate license now.

I think we paid around $3500. for it through a channel partner. It was a
little more expensive through IBM Direct.

Subject: C compiler on 5.1

Hello all,

I need to get the C/C++ compiler installed on an AIX
5.1 system, and I thought that it came with the O/S.
After initial installation of the O/S and the App Dev
bundle, I see the runtime version of it:

> lslpp -l | grep -i xlc
  xlC.aix50.rte 5.0.2.2 COMMITTED C Set
++ Runtime for AIX 5.0
  xlC.cpp 5.0.2.0 COMMITTED C for
AIX Preprocessor
  xlC.msg.en_US.cpp 5.0.2.0 COMMITTED C for
AIX Preprocessor
  xlC.msg.en_US.rte 5.0.2.0 COMMITTED C Set
++ Runtime
  xlC.rte 5.0.2.1 COMMITTED C Set
++ Runtime

I believe that these exist for the purpose of handling
'smit installable' packages. However, the cc command
doesn't exist. I've checked the bonus pack and the
expansion pack but they do not seem to have it either.

What do I need to do to get the cc compiler installed?

Thanks!
