Summary: Vrestore and Multiple Savesets

Thanks to Olle Eriksson who reminded me that I forgot to specify the
non-rewinding parameter to the mt command:

mt -f /dev/ntape/tape1_d1 fsf <n>

---------------------------------------------------
Tru64 5.1B

I am using vdump to individually backup 5 partitions.

vdump -0 -b 64 -C -F 64 -u -x 8 -N -f /dev/tape/tape1_d1 <partition>

When using vrestore, it doesn't matter how man savesets I specify to forward
(1-4) when mounting the tape, I can only see the first (root) partition.

mt -f /dev/tape/tape1_d1 rewind
mt -f /dev/tape/tape1_d1 fsf <n>
vrestore -i -f /dev/tape/tape1_d1

I need one file on the fifth saveset.

It's not an issue of insufficient tape capacity to back up the other savesets.

I've don't recall having this problem before. Any suggestion is welcome.
