Found out that if even though I had upgraded my Active Directory to
2003, I had to install Authentication Services for NFS on any Windows
2000 servers in the domain. I can mount and access the NFS shares, but
now anyone that's logged into the Unix machine can too regardless of
what NTFS permissions I put on the directory or share. I thought that
"Mixed mode" on NetApps filers were flaky, but this seems just as weird.
Is anyone else out there using Windows Storage Server and NFS shares on
it? Have you had any better luck with the permissions?

Running Tru645.1B-3 trying to set up an NFS client share to a Windows
2003 Storage Server set up as a NAS head on my EVA3000. I can set the
NFS mount up through the GUI and get no errors, but when I try to open
that directory, I get a permission denied error. I have another W2K3
Storage Server that I can connect to and set up the share with no
problem. I have tried opening the permissions wide open. I copied the
username and group files from the server that does work to the server
that doesn't. The username and group mappings are exactly the same.
Some folks I have talked to have pointed me to Unix for Windows 3.0, but
I shouldn't have to use it if I'm running W2K3 Storage Server. The
mappings and everything are set up there. Does anyone have any
experience with this and lend some friendly advice?
