ASU as member server...

Dear ASU experts,

I have recently changed the role of our ASU (Compaq Advanced Server
V5.1A ECO3 for UNIX, under Tru64 v5.1) to be a member server rather than
a BDC. Now, I cannot use the "net access" command under Unix to assign
new permissions (as was being performed earlier) - this results in an
error. I realized I can perform this task from a Windows client using
the windows interface and accessing the share. However, it does not
propagate the assigned permissions to subfolders and files. Why? What is
the way out?
