I wish to thank Chris Wincentsen, Richard Loken, Roberto Romani, William
F Fiore and Werner Rost for their prompt replies. The rsh command did
the trick:

rsh {rnode} "mt ...."

was the solution. Thanks again for your assistance.

Subject: remote mt operations...

Can some pls enlighten me on whether the "mt" command under Tru64 v5.1
and
v5.1B supports remote node operations? I wish to rewind a tape mounted
on a
remote node and forward to a specific save-set. How do I achieve this? I
tried the command in the format:

mt -f nodex:/dev/ntape/tape0_d1 rewind

where nodex is the remote node. However, it refused to recognize the
string
following -f. How do I achieve this as I want to use it with the
rvrestore
command. Appreciate your prompt reply.
