Hello managers, this maybe a strange request but here goes. Our current ERP
runs on an Alpha 4100 with 2 shelfs of disks, and when put in a rack takes
up I guess about 16U. I'm looking to move this up to an ES40 with two 6
drive shelfs, and can cut my rackspace in half. Our ERP is so old, I'm
going to have to do a vdump/vrestore since we don't even have the proper
installation software. The main reason we are doing this is that we are
moving to a new ERP system in the next 3 months, but will have to have the
old one available for at least the next year if not longer to look up old
information. We don't plan on transferring very much from the old system,
fresh start if you will.
I've got a line and an excellent price on a fully loaded ES 40, but before I
pulled the trigger I was curious if anyone in the Dallas/Fort worth area had
a spare ES40 that I could possibly test this on, load tru64 on it, restore
our information and verify this works. I'm sure I could figure out a way to
compensate you, whether I bribe you in beer or my company actually pays you
for the time.
