Hello there managers, I have an AS1000 that we are trying to see if we can
use as a backup/replacement server in case of a catastrophic failure of our
AS4100. What I wanted to do, install 4.0f, install patch kit 7, setup the
disks and AdvFS domains identical to the 4100, load up networker and restore
the latest full backup to the 1000, reboot the system to make sure it comes
up and mounts all the drives OK and then try starting all of our DB servers
and other items.
I know it's not a perfect solution, but its more to prove to management that
the 1000 won't be an acceptable backup/recovery solution for a system that
is used by so many people at once.
Our current AS4100 is running Patch Kit 7, and for the life of me I cannot
find another copy of it to download anywhere. I've found patch kit 8, but
really don't want to move our 4100 to it. Does anyone have a copy of tru64
4.0f Patch Kit 7 I could download from them or show me where to get it?
