HP Tru64 UNIX V5.1B-3 (and TruCluster V5.1B-3) are available

The downloadable software update kit for HP Tru64 UNIX and
TruCluster V5.1B-3 is now available on HP's ITRC web site:

http://www.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/mainPage.do

The patch summary and release notes are also available from
the usual documentation web site location.

The kit designation is T64V51BB26AS0005-20050502, which is
also called "patch kit 5", and it replaces the earlier patch
kits for V5.1B, which should be considered "obsolete".

As always, you are supposed to have the appropriate update
license to use the software in the kit. As it says in the
patch kit description, you must accept the conditions in
the license (agreement) that the "dupatch" utility displays.

The kit is about 203MB in size, so allow for the time that
it will take to download if you choose a web download.

The media update kits for this updated version should be
available before the end of June, 2005, if you have the
media update subscription service and prefer to wait for
the media package. If you want to order the updated CD
media kit, you might want to wait until that date before
you place the order to avoid any confusion.

If you're running an older version, remember that standard
support for the really old versions is discontinued after
newer versions are delivered; V5.1B-1 will be dropped off
the "standard" list around the end of this calendar year,
when V5.1B-3 has been available for 6 months. Do plan to
update to V5.1B-3 when it's appropriate for your site. Of
course, prior version support is still available as before
if that better meets your needs.
