Hello Tru64 Managers,

After installing Tru64 4.0f on a machine, I cannot seem to login via
NIS authentication from our Linux server. The error I've received,
upon logging in with a NIS user is:
> No directory!
> Logging in with home = "/".

Then promptly logs me out, in both X and via the CLI. When I login
after as local root, however, the home directory of the user I
attempted to login as is mounted.

What I've checked (and rechecked, and rechecked, etc)

1) NFS locking is not enabled.
2) auto.master and accompanying files are correct
3) All users I've tried work on other Tru64 workstations here.
4) the users do login; ie, they do authenticate. (as noted above)
5) NFS does work with various other mounts, and even the said users'
directories (as noted above)

I'm stumped. I've compared various config files between machines, and
can't find anything. I'm sure it's pretty easy (I'm new to the Tru64
world), but I've googled and looked through documentation for the past
day and a half with no answers.

Thanks in advance for the help that is sure to come.
