Hi managers,
Last Tuesday we switched off our 38 DS10 machines (4.0F PK8). When they
were switched back on, 4 of them had their nr0 interface (tu0, tu1)
not working (link LED OK on CISCO switches but no response to ping).
Whereas other network interfaces are OK (tu2, ee0 and ee1).
We did:
- check addresses, routes, cables
- check speed and duplex mode (ew*_mode, etc.)
- ifconfig nr0 switch
- check logs: uerf, /var/adm/messages
- check kernel configuration file and sysconfigtab
- removed nr0 and try to use tu0 / tu1 alone
- use other ports on the switches
- rebooted a few times
but nothing worked or explained the problem.
Then we connected a new DE600 PCI card, the new interface (ee2) was
added to nr0 (tu0, tu1, ee2) and worked OK.
Switching nr0 to make it use tu0 and tu1 worked also!
We removed the DE600 card, rebooted and everything is OK now!!!!
(Note: tu0 and tu1 are integrated on the motherboard.)
What are we missing ?
Thanks for your help, I'll summarize.
