Recover a 2 node cluster to different hardware.

Hello Managers!

I'm still searching through the archives, and have found some hints to what I'm attempting to do, but thought I'd go ahead and ask for some help.

I'm attempting to vdump a 2 node cluster, then recover the cluster to a different 2 node cluster.

I have a 2 node GS160 cluster running Tru64 UNIX version 5.1, and the O/S is on a mirrored set (hardware partitioned) on the HSG80 controllers. I would like to vdump this O/S, then vrestore the save sets to a 2 node GS80 cluster also with HSG80 dasd.

The GS160 and GS80 cluster hardware configurations are almost identical, but I do know that I will have a problem with the hardware database.

The other questions I have are:

How do I change the cluster node names?
How to change the cluster alias.
What all configuration files will need to be changed.
How to fix the hardware database?

The GS160 cluster will stay up and running (production).
The GS80 cluster is going to be the backup site.

Hopefully, maybe someone has already had to do this, and would have a procedure in place.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Once, and if, I have a working procedure, I'll post here for everyone's use.

Thanks,

David Stacks
