The general consensus is to use ssh/scp. I believe this is a problem
for us as the HP website supported version of Tru64 is 5.1A and we are
running 5.1.

I am trying to determine the best way to allow 3 VMS and 2 Windows boxes
to copy files to two directories on my Unix box. Application guy wants
to set up generic account that has write access to the directories and
give out the "non-expiring" username and password. I did not like this
idea from a who did what point of view. Also, the application will pick
up the files written to the first directory and process them so anyone
with the password can ftp in whatever data they want with very little
accountability.

I have looked at the rcp command which seems like a possibility but I
know someone out there has done this in secure way.

System is 5.1 and running tcpip.
