CIFS, Internet Express or just Samba?

Admins,

I have been asked to install Samba to enable CIFS in
our Tru64 environment.
The environment is a 4 node cluster running V5.1B PK4
and enhanced security.

I am after some advice, should I install Internet
Express (LDAP may be required at a later date)
or would it be better to install just Samba? If just
Samba, which version is recommended?

I have found some precompiled binaries from the Samba
site (Ver 2.2.7) compiled for Tru64 V5.1x
with enhanced security integration enabled.

Alternatively, the Internet Express CD contains the
source code for Samba 2.2.8a but the lastest
stable release on the Samba site seems to be 3.0.9.

Any advice, experiences, gotcha's welcome. TIA
