Oracle 9i RAC on Compaq Tru64 UNIX

Hello to all.

I know this is related to Oracle, but am hoping someone has seen this problem before.

I have a 2 node cluster using GS80 servers running Tru64 UNIX Version 5.1B and Oracle 9i RAC.

The problem I am seeing started after the servers had been shutdown for a week because of the hurricane that went through New Orleans. After all was clear, the servers where brought back up, and minus having to replace the HSG80 batteries, all was well. Until, the DBA’s tried to start Oracle. The problem is that the second instance of Oracle will not start. Just hang’s. They can start Oracle on only one node, but not both. Starting on either node does not seem to matter.

I have verified my kernel settings with Oracle 9i Real Application Cluster (RAC) on Compaq Tru64 UNIX Installation Guide, and all settings are correct.

Then systems are not logging any errors, nor is Oracle logging any errors. If anyone has seen this happen before, please let me know.

Also, is there a way to have the system log more information to the /var/adm/messages file?

Thanks,
