SUMMARY: NFS mount error

Sorry, didn't really get any help on this one. I think most people missed the point of the problem. That fact that it doesn't mount on boot up is irrelevant. The mount command doesn't work when the system is up and running either. It only works when specifying the full,
'mount -t nfs server:fileset /mountdir' command. It should work with,
'mount /mountdir'

One suggestion was to script it in the rc3.d directory, which I'll probably end up doing.

Subject: NFS mount error

Managers,

I'm experiencing the following problem with NFS on a 2 node ES47. (5.1B )

I have entered the following line into /etc/fstab, 'imgrep01:/images/incab /incab nfs rw,bg,intr 0 0'

When mounting, such as, 'mount /incab' I get the following error,

Can't get net id for host

But when entering the command,

mount -t nfs imgrep01:/images/incab incab

It mounts correctly without any errors. Obviously this means that when the system is rebooted it doesn't automatically mount the file system.

Any ideas ?

Regards,

Bryan Mills.
