Disk I/O

Hi there..we are operating Tru645.1A on a DS20 533MHz box
with an attached RA450 storage system
There seems to be a problem with the I/O , e.g. extending an Oracle tablespace by 200MB on an advfs filesystem with 3GB free
but the Oracle Enterprise Manager errored with "Compaq Tru64 error 5 I/O Error - additional information 588801,(new line) additional information 32"
Checking /var/adm/messages and running dia does not shed any light.
Is there anywhere else I should be looking? These files could be over 2GB so is there a relevant kernel parameter?
Thanks

Steven Frost
