Hello managers,
If for some reasons the date of an NTP client is much ahead related to
the server's date, both "ntpq -p" and "ntpdate -q server" get into a
Memory fault and dump core.
After a short investigation, I found out that this happens on 5.1A and
not on 4.0F (we don't use 5.1B), when the client's date is more than
65536 (or maybe 65535, something close to 2^16 anyway) seconds ahead of
the server's. Strangely enough, there is no problem when the client is
very late compared to the server, even by millions of seconds.
I haven't found any information about this either in the patchkit 6 or
on the Web. Does anyone have any clue about this problem?
Thanks,
-- Nicolas
