Thanks for receiving answers from a lot of managers
e.q. Dr.Thomas Blinn, Dan Goetzmann, ......

I got convinced that the heavy usage of NFS-threads causes this high activity of
the Kernel Idle process (using "ps axlm | grep nfs").
The other hints for tuning NFS-parameters I tried out before, without gaining
much NFS-performance ??

------------------------------
Dear Managers,

running an ES40 (1 Processor) in a 2node-cluster as an heavily frequented
file-server, I sometimes get trouble with NFS-performance ?
Having tuned "server-threads, client-threads", found "timeout- to call-ratio =
0.2%" (beeing ok),
I saw the [kernel idle] process using up to 45% of the one cpu.
Any idea what this means ??

Thanks

Martin
