Default route redirected?

We have a 4.0f site that is getting their default route redirected.
I did not think that this was possible! It is correct in /etc/routes and if
we delete and re-add it, it is comes back correct with netstat -rn, until it
gets redirected again.

Disabling redirects in the kernel will stop this from happening, but
for some reason, redirects need to be enabled at this site

Is it possible for any router to redirect the defult route? Any way
to keep this from happening?

thanks
