many rdsym processes

I have a user with a PWS 600 running tru64 5.0A who is getting the problem
that she cannot run anything because the process space is full. Closing
all windows and logging out does not solve the problem. When I login as
root, I see many, many /usr/lbin/rdsym processes in either I or IW
state. She has used this computer for several years and this just began
happening within the last month or 2. If I kill the /usr/lbin/rdsym
processes, she can work again for awhile until the process table fills up
again. I can't find out what the rdsym process is or where it comes from
- it has no man page. Anyone have any idea what's going on ?

Thanks,
Dirk
