We needed to be able to read tapes created on a DLT 40/80Gb drive in a
DLT 35/70Gb drive so had to use one of the non-default tape densities to
make it work. The following map of device names to densities was
determined by trying each one and checking the density/compression
lights on the drive afterwards. It might be of use to someone:
tape0_d0 -> 35Gb compressed
tape0_d1 -> 40Gb compressed
tape0_d2 -> 40Gb not-compressed
tape0_d3 -> 35Gb not-compressed
tape0_d4 -> 20Gb not-compressed
The rest are left as an exercise for the reader!
tape0_d0 was the one that worked for us btw.
