prpasswdd consuming 90% CPU

Dear Tru64 admins,

One node of our cluster was rebooted, and now prpasswdd
is running and consuming all CPU resources. vmstat shows
cpu idle at zero most of the time.

prpasswdd is not running on the other cluster member.

Do I need to be running prpasswdd ? Users don't log
in to this machine (except admins) so I'm not sure why
it should be running. Is it safe to just leave it
turned off?
