The solution was:
Compile a older version of Samba.
I tried to compile 3.0.4 ( the newest version) That failed because, I think,
some library's are not valid for that version.
Therefore I was looking for a pre-compield version.
I download 2.2.9 that compiled and works fine.

        Thanks again, Gert Maaskant.

The question was:

Hi Managers,

We running Tru64 40.G and Advanced Server verion 5.0
We planned to make a move from NT4.0 to Windows 2003.

There is no document to find where I can read that Advanced Server will
work. So I tried to compile Samba on the AlphaServer.
Unfortionaly the compile actions stopped with exit code 1.
After that I try to find an pre-compiled version on the web, bud cannot
find.

Has some of you any suggestion, or a pre-compiled tarfile ?
