Vrestore Question

I have a tape with a bunch of vbackups on it. During the backing up process,
the vdump asked for a second tape because the first had become full. Put the
second tape in, that backup finished and more filesets were dumped after that.
Now I'm trying to do an interactive vrestore from that second tape, but I just
can't get it to work. The second tape has the second half of the first backup,
and then 3 more filesets after that. I've tried fast forwarding the tape 1, as
well as fsf 2 and fsf 3, but every time I try the vrestore it just says that
"vrestore: unable to use save-set; invalid or corrupt format". Why might this
be? The length of time it takes to fast forward the tape definitely seems to
correspond to the length of the fileset.

The backup is from an Alpha ES40, running Tru64 5.1b, patchkit 3. Any thoughts
would be most appreciated.
