SUMMARY: top display

Thanks to everyone who answered!

        As it turned out, the multiple jobs showing up in "top" with the
same size were multiple instances of the same program, which uses enough
resources to keep itself in the top 15. While MUMPS uses the UNIX pid
numbers for its own process table, the names of the running jobs at the UNIX
level can be ambiguous. Many of them just show up as "msql", particularly
when they are kicked off automatically. We had to examine these jobs within
the database to see what was actually going on.
