We are running into a few problems because of the limited number of PCI
slots on the DS15 which we need to cluster and connect to a SAN (with
redundant SAN connections).
I am looking for a dual channel PCI to FibreChannel Adapter for a DS15
(Tru64). I notice that HP sells such a unit for the Proliant units but
none for the Alphas. If you are aware of a planned product release in the
near future, would like to hear about it.
Does anyone have experience with ethernet based clustering and issues if
any. Is it sufficient to use 100Mbps or is a 1000Mbps connection
essential? The HP guidelines seem to indicate that if you are using
Direct I/O (as in Oracle 9i) then the cluster interconnect does not need to
carry a large load. My assumption is that in this case a 100 Mbps will
work well.
