Summary: TruCluster and Hitachi 9980v

Hi,

A late summary because it took me a long time to find out how to resolv
the problem, and i still do not have all the answers...

Why Tru64 needs a reboot to recognise the Hitachi is still a mistery.

If i use Lun 0 and 2 different host groups all the luns attached to that
machine gets 'blocked'. To resolv this I need to run the following
commands on each cluster member and then release that lun from that
member:
scu> sbtl 5 5 0
Device: HSG80, Bus: 5, Target: 5, Lun: 0, Type: Direct Access
scu> reset device
scu> pres register key 0 skey 1
scu> pres clear key 1

I am still waiting on the official answer from Sun (where we bought the
Hitachi) about Lun0 and how to use the host groups in a cluster.
But not using lun0 and placing all the members in the same host group is
working ok at the moment.

Subject: Updated: TruCluster and Hitachi 9980v

Only two responses but not yet a solution. All the zoning on the SAN is
correct.

I know by now that to let the cluster see (a fibre channel port) on the
Hitachi I NEED to do a REBOOT.
I tried hwmgr -scan scsi and scu -scan scsi, but after these commands I
did not see the Hitachi, after a reboot I did see it. Does anybody know
what is the difference between these 2 commands and a reboot? I tried
reloading the emx driver, but this is not possible because it is in use.

Another thing that I suspect is that in a cluster I should not use lun 0
as a normal disk. can anyone confirm this?
I did use lun 0 and know I have this unit 'blocked' on the Hitachi with
the error:
Processing is disabled because the host is mounted or the device is
reserved.(3 2082)
I am still waiting a respons from Sun on how to resolv this.

Hi all,

I am trying to connect my Tru64 Cluster to an Hitachi 9980v.
Im am using the FCA-2354 (firmware 3.91A1 driver 2.06) HBA in an alpha
ES40 with Tru64Unix 5.1Apk4.
Hitachi is running: Main 21-06-28-00/00 SVP: 21-06-24/00 Server:03_04_00.

I am able to see a LUN on only one node of the cluster. On the Hitachi I
see all the HBA's of the Alpha's.
Any idea's, or any confirmation that somebody is using this machine with a
cluster.
